Immersive Reality

I will investigate the impact of immersive technologies on physiology to quantify what it means to truly be “immersed”

What does it mean to be immersed?

I will develop experiments to investigate the physiological correlates that arise in immersive states. By monitoring the heart-rate, EEG, and skin-conductance changes that arise in immersive reality we can develop metrics to quantify the effects of XR-technologies. Furthermore, by developing experiments to understand subjective reports during immersive states we can begin to understand how XR changes human-computer interactions. These findings will help us to develop ecologically valid experiments and advance immersive experiences.
